Bruce Gaudette

LAND HOE!’s owner Bruce Gaudette is a Massachusetts native who worked during high school in greenhouses and at floral shops.  He went to the United States Coast Guard Academy and graduated in 1982.  He spent 4 years patrolling the waters off the Florida coast hunting for drug smugglers.  In port, he hunted around as well and in St. Petersburg, found his wife and life partner Robin.  Together they moved to the Pacific NW in 1986.  Bruce left the active duty service in 1991 and entered the Reserve from which he retired as a Commander in 2005.

In 1991, Bruce went back to college at Edmonds Community College to study horticulture and landscape installation.  Graduating in 1993, he worked for a number of landscaping companies learning the trade, while slowly growing Land Hoe! which was established the previous year.  In 1995, Land Hoe! became a full time venture and soon after, an employer.

In the 15 years since, Land Hoe! has developed into a top quality, residential design and installation company.   The company’s clientele are now 70% referred or repeat, attesting to the high priority we give to customer service and quality construction.   Bruce has also returned to Edmonds C.C. numerous times as a guest instructor in the Horticulture Department, among other things, teaching landscape carpentry.

Bruce is a founding member of the Snohomish County chapter of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP), an organization dedicated to improving professionalism in landscaping across the state.  As chapter president from 1998 through 2000, he saw the chapter grow into the state’s second largest.  Bruce served as the president of WALP in 2007 and has continued to serve the organization in various positions, including returning to the chapter presidency for 2010.

Since 1998, the company has received 6 awards from WALP for excellence and creativity  in landscape design and implementation.

Robin Gaudette is Land Hoe’s vice president and runs the office.  She is well known in the greater Mukilteo and Everett area for her many energetic pursuits in the area of personal fitness training and Pilates, through her business Synergy Personal Fitness.  She teaches high octane Zumba classes at the Mukilteo YMCA and at Columbia Athletic Club at Silver Lake and is certified in BTS Group Centergy and Group Power.

Bruce, Robin and their 4 American Eskimo Dogs are residents of Mukilteo.  All six share a passion for exploring great outdoors places in the NW including (and especially) British Columbia.
